Optical Prisms are used to redirect light at a designated angle. Optical Prisms are ideal for ray deviation, or for adjusting the orientation of an image. An Optical Prism's design determines how light interacts with it. When light enters an Optical Prism, it either reflects off an individual surface or several surfaces before exiting, or is refracted as it travels through the substrate. For example, when light enters a right angle prism, it reflects off a single surface, causing the light to redirect at 90°. When light enters a wedge prism, though, a change in substrate thickness causes the light to deviate through refraction.
Juncheng Optics offers a wide range of Optical Prisms in a variety of designs, substrates, or coating options. Designs include Right Angle, Amici, Penta, Schmidt, Wedge, Anamorphic, Equilateral, Dove, or Rhomboid prisms, in addition to Corner Cube Retroreflectors or Light Pipe Homogenizing Rods. Anti-reflection coatings include MgF2, UV-VIS, UV-AR, VIS 0°, VIS-NIR, or multiple laser line options.

Penta & Half Pentagon Prism

Penta prisms are five-sided prisms featuring a ray deviation of 90° and a right handed image. The reflecting surfaces are aluminized for increased efficiency. Slight movement of the prism does not affect the true right angle at which light rays are reflected, making a penta prism the ideal optical tool for defining a right angle in an optical system.

Half-Penta prisms are used to deviate the line of sight by 45° without inverting or reverting the image. The reflecting surface is aluminized and over-coated with Inconel and black paint to increase efficiency. Combining a Half-Penta Prism with a corresponding size Schmidt Prism creates a Pechan prism pair. The Pechan prism pair will invert or revert the image while not deviating the line of sight. It can be used with converging or diverging light for system size reduction.

We are coating from 0.2um to 20um. Including AR coating, high reflect film, the splitting film, laser crystal film, IR film, UV film and Optical fiber film etc. Especially in the laser, the frequency doubling crystal, IR crystal, and UV band coating we have huge advantage.
